The Many Months of September

Originally the seventh month in the oldest Roman calendar, September gained its name after the Latin for seven, "septem". Later, after the calendar was reformed, September became the ninth month, but retained its original name. Aside from moving places in the calendar, September also has several things to celebrate. For instance, let's look at the list below, courtesy of Nationaldaycalendar.com:

Alopecia Areata Awareness Month

Baby Safety Month

Fall Hat Month

Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 to October 15)

International Update Your Resume Month

Little League Month

National Square Dance Month

National Chicken Month

National Courtesy Month

National Neonatal Intensive Care Awareness Month

National Mushroom Month

National Potato Month

National Preparedness Month

National Self-Care Awareness Month

National Suicide Awareness Month

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome Awareness Month

So, which nifty celebration(s) to pick? Well, I thought the most crochet appropriate choices would be: Hispanic Heritage, Neonatal Intensive Care Awareness, Mushrooms, & Self-Care Awareness. Onwards to the roundup!

Hispanic Heritage Month

Latinos, Mexicans, Spaniards. This month was made to celebrate the history of each of these cultures. The food, music, and other traditions created to keep that culture alive. Visit the blow links to find all the Hispanic patterns (or patterns by Hispanic creators) you'll need to shout, "FIESTA!":
