The Many Months of March




The third month of the year of the Julian and Gregorian calendars, it is named after the first month of the Roman calendar, Martius, which was named to honor Mars, the god of war. In Roman times, it marked the beginning of the season of warfare. It was also the remained the first month until as late as 153 BC, according to Wikipedia.
