The Many Months of June

According to Wikipedia, June is the sixth month of the year of the Julian and Gregorian calendars. Ovid has multiple possible origins for the month of Junius, or June. The first is that it is named after the Greek goddess Juno. She is the goddess of marriage and the wife of Jupiter. The second origin is that it is derived from the Latin word juniores, meaning younger ones. Another possible origin is that it was name after Lucius Junius Brutus, founder of the Roman Republic and ancestor of the Roman gens Junia. There are many celebrations for the month of June.
