The first month of the year, it is named after the Roman god, Janus, who is the god of beginnings and transitions. It was added to the calendar by the Roman King Numa Pompilius or Decemvirs, depending on which writer you read, to cover a standard lunar year. Aside from opening each new year, January also has several things to celebrate. For instance, let's look at the summarized list below, courtesy of Nationaldaycalendar.com:
World Health Esteem Month
National Soup Month
National Slow Cooking Month
National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month
National Braille Literacy Month
National Hobby Month
National CBD Month
National Hot Tea Month
National Oatmeal Month
National Blood Donor Month
National Menudo Month
National Bath Safety Month
National Black Diamond Month
National Mentoring Month
National Sunday Supper Month
So, which nifty celebration(s) to pick? Well, I thought the most crochet appropriate choices would be: Soup, Hot Tea, Blood Donor, & Hobby. Onwards to the roundup!
National Soup Month
Warm. Comforting. Goodness in a bowl. Soups come in all forms: chunky, smooth, spicy, sweet, broth, bisque. There's something for everyone! Celebrate by taking a bite out of these awesome patterns:
