The Floral Month of March!

March is the beginning of Spring. This is a time when we celebrate the renewing of life with the emergence of hibernating animals, warmer weather, and blooms of flowers!

The flower, well in this case flowers, associated with the month of March are both from the Narcissus family. Although similar in origin, they differ slightly in their meaning. Let's take a look at the Daffodil and the Jonquil as well as their meanings to see how.

Daffodils come in various shades of yellow, white, orange, pink. However, the various shades do not mean separate things for this birth flower. The daffodil, according to gardenia.net, symbolizes rebirth, new beginnings, and hope. Also, in some cultures, they can symbolize good luck and prosperity when gifted to others.

The Jonquil, unlike the daffodil, comes in yellow only. The Jonquil, according to gardenia.net, also symbolizes rebirth, new beginnings, and hope. However, they are also associated with strong affection and desire, which is due to their sweet fragrance. Besides giving them to your partner (or your crush) to express your feelings of romance, they can also be given to others to symbolize good luck and prosperity.

Celebrate those born in March by crafting some (or all) of the patterns below:

P.S.

I'm working on my version of the c2c variation squares. I currently, as of this post, have 11 done. I'm struggling with the stitch count on it. I have this last one to go, attach them together with the granny JAYGO, and then border them. Then I have to type it all up and have them tested. I'm hoping to have it typed up and ready to go by March 16th at the latest. I want testing done by May 17th at the latest since I'm planning to start the CAL in June, so keep your eyes open for further posts. 😉
