The Floral Month of July!

The dog days of summer. Most people refer to July like this because it is so hot! Well, what better way to cool down than with water? And what flower can be found in the water? Waterlilies! Waterlilies are just one of the birth flowers for July. the other is the larkspur. But what does each flower mean or represent?

The larkspur, also known as delphinium, come in several colors: blue, purple, pink, & white. Each color has its own meaning aside from the general meanings, which will be listed below. Below is a graphic from showing the different colors and their meanings:

The general meanings for the larkspur, according to Gardenia.net, are:

  • Lightness and levity

  • Protection

  • Courage, strength, and nobility

The waterlily also comes in a variety of colors, including white, yellow, pink, and red. However, the color of the flower does NOT affect the meaning. According to Gardenia.net, the waterlily represents:

  • Purity and innocence

  • Enlightenment and spiritual awakening

  • Rebirth and renewal

Celebrate those born in July by crafting some (or all) of the patterns below:
