Cozy It Up!

As promised, we will discuss how I attach fabric to the back of crochet blankets. First, we will start with a "before" photo:

Rather plain, isn't it? No worries. We're about to fix that. 😉 Let's begin!

Step 1: Lay your fabric out flat.

Step 2: Lay project on top of fabric, flat. Line up with top & 1 side.

Step 3: Measure 1 inch around open edges.

Step 4: Cut fabric at the 1 inch mark.

Step 5: With fabric wrong side up, hem each edge. (Click here for help on hemming)

Step 6: Place Afghan on top of fabric with the back of the Afghan facing the hemmed side of the fabric.

Step 7: Without stretching either fabric, sew together using either a ZigZag foot or Walking foot & a straight stitch.

Step 8: Wash according to proper fabric & yarn care directions.

Step 9: Enjoy your Afghan for years to come! 😊

For my Afghan, I used a Brother CS7000i sewing machine, Singer polyester thread from the Singer sewing kit, & velvet fleece in blush from Hobby Lobby. Below is the "after" photos of both the front & back.

Super cozy, heavy, and warm! I hope this helped, even a little bit. Go forth and cozy up those projects! Subscribe/Join the blog for all future blog posts, if you haven't yet.

Also, I'm still chugging along on the CAL! It will be ready for January, I promise! 😄 I'll also be dropping some hints later this year as to what it pertains to. So, keep your eyes open for those. 😉

Be well & stay awesome! 😎
